Katherine Gansallo
Director, Diversity & Inclusion at LSEG
Katherine Gansallo is the Director, Diversity and Inclusion at London Stock Exchange Group, she has a global remit spanning over 70 Countries and 25,000 employees. In this role, she leads a team in creating and leading on the organisation’s diversity and inclusion strategy. Katherine has created a strategy that’s focuses on integrating inclusion best practice in all LSEG’s systems and processes and equipping all Leaders at every level to lead inclusively every day. She is focused on promoting long-term behavioural and systemic change to deliver equitable outcomes.
Since Katherine’s appointment, she has focused on progressing DEI at LSEG in a number of ways, namely partnering closely with Centre of Excellence departments within the People Function to ensure a DEI lens and data-led approach on all initiatives and programmes. These have included:
- Leadership Accelerator for Black and Latinx colleagues
- Talent Development programmes including a Women Returners Programme
- Early Careers and Emerging Talent Strategy
- Talent Acquisition by consulting on an Inclusive Hiring mandatory training course for 4,000 People Leaders and Hiring Managers
- Assessing Talent Performance processes and analysis to reduce and mitigate systemic bias
Katherine has also spearheaded a global programme to enhance and introduce new inclusive, fair and market-leading family-friendly employment policies to ensure our colleagues are supported including; Global Parental Leave, Menopause, Trans and Non-Binary Transitioning, an HIV/AIDS Workplace policy and Domestic Abuse. To ensure progress on all strands of diversity, Katherine focused on growing her team to specifically pilot work on a comprehensive Disability and Social Mobility Strategy.
Katherine has held several leadership roles within Talent, Recruiting, Learning and Leadership Development. She is responsible for supporting the D and I Exco lead to drive the strategy with the support of the D and I working group consisting of 20 senior leaders across the organisation.
Katherine was shortlisted as Head of Diversity of the Year at the British Diversity Awards 2021, and Head of Diversity of the Year at the European Diversity Awards 2019 and 2022.
During her tenure, LSEG has won Large Brand of the Year Award at The Bank of London Rainbow Honours 2022, Company of the Year at the European Diversity Awards 2022, Gold in the India Workpace Equality Index, Best Company for Diversity & Inclusion award at the Best Execution’s European Markets Choice Award Ceremony 2023, One of Sri Lanka’s Most Outstanding Women Friendly Workplaces by AICPA & CIMA and Satyn, Awarded MOD’s Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award and are in the Top 10 for the FTSE Women Leaders review, the only company in financial services recognised in the top ten for both FTSE 100 Leadership roles and FTSE 100 women on Boards and Leadership.
She earned a BSc, Honours Degree in Information Technology Management for business from Loughborough University, and a MSc degree in Human Resource Management and Employee Relations from the University of Warwick. She is also a Chartered member of the Institute of Personnel and Development and holds, Level 5 &7 CIPD Diplomas.
Katherine has a passion for inspiring and supporting diverse individual and as such she founded Katherine Gansallo Consulting to support diverse millennials to advance in their careers as well as supporting young people at the start of their careers get into corporate environments via internships and graduate programmes.
